Canon pushes this fancy cartridge a lot for photo printing. It really doesn't seem to make much difference with the BJC-6000 and S450 I have, but the photos still look slightly better with it. If you don't want to spend your money on extra ink, don't buy this. The price is reasonable, and good if you print a lot of photos as the printer has more colors to pick from. Do use a good paper like the canon High Resolution Paper or the Glossy Photo Paper no matter what cartridges you use for printing photos.
